Problems Faced By Families Leaving The UK

Immigration is a major issue for both the public and the government at the moment in the UK. However it should be noted that not only are we seeing a lot of new arrivals to the UK, but we are also seeing many people emigrating abroad to embark on a new and exciting adventure.

You have to admire people who do this, particularly those who have families because it does take a lot of courage. However the major problem is that if things do not work out and you later want to return to the UK, you may find yourself being priced out of the property market.

For instance when you actually emigrate overseas, you may well have decided to sell your house quickly, in which case you probably sold it below it’s true market value. So you are already in a worse-off position to begin with, and when you factor in any price appreciation in the property market in the intervening period, you may find that you simply cannot afford to buy the kind of property that you were hoping for.

This is particularly true if you want your children to attend a good school or university because properties close to good schools and universities will set you back even more because they are in such high demand.

So the point is that you need to think about these things when you are considering emigrating abroad. Yes you may have perfect lives in a new and exotic location overseas, but it doesn’t always work out this way, and some people may well find that they miss UK life and want to return home at some point. However this is not always as easy as you might think, unfortunately, due to rising property prices and higher costs of living.
