Flashcards are a great tool for helping to teach youngsters how to read.
When I was first at school, I had a lot of trouble mastering the art of reading; the other children were all racing through their reading books, whilst I was stuck on the first book in the series that we were using. Fortunately, my teacher called my mother in to school and let her know what the problem was. After that, my mother spent a lot of time with me, reading books and drilling me with flashcards. It worked! Soon after I was the best reader in the class and to this day I enjoy reading all types of books.
