Oh yes. We all remember our school lockers. We got chatting here at office1web.ie about what we used to keep in our school lockers? Were you one of the tidy people who kept their school lockers in immaculate condition or were you more of the happy go lucky type that flung everything any anything into your locker?

Ok. We have all left the unwanted packed lunch in our school lockers until the sandwich went fully green with mould and stunk the entire place out with the smell of gone off ham and cheese. Other smelly habits included leaving your wet dirty football gear in our lockers for days on end, gross you may think – yes it is!! Especially when you have to pull on the same smelly wet football gear at the next raining session. Other smelly habits involved leaving a sweaty pair of runners or trainers in your locker until the rancid smell leaked all over the school floor.

Then there is the contraband. School lockers are the obvious place to hide the sneaky cigarettes. Not so surprising really given that so many young people try smoking for the first time in school. In more recent years kids have started keeping much more serious things in their school lockers. Pet animals have become almost common place in the United States. Most recently a Long Ball Python was found in a school in the States. School lockers are obviously not the ideal place to keep any type of animal. But hey, try telling that to a dogmatic brazen 16 year old. Guns! Yes I said guns. School lockers have become a hide out for kids and their weapons! A sad, but true indictment on society today.

What pin up person did you stick to the inside of your locker? We were trying to figure out was this more a girl thing or were both sexes guilty of sticking up cheesy photos of their pop or sports idol? Whether it was Madonna, Kylie or the Back Street Boys it was common place to have your favourite pin up inside your school locker!
