Most parents would be shocked to learn that their children have pinworms.
Toddlers and kids in kindergarten often “share” pinworm infections when they don’t wash their hands after going to the bathroom. Not every child is infected with pinworms, of course, but up to about 12 percent of children–and also 12 percent of parents–get these parasites at one time or another.
Pinworms cause itchy bottoms. Anal itching can be intense, especially at night. The very worst infestations can cause abdominal bloating and fatigue. Medications get rid of pinworms in a month or so, but some tried and true natural methods for getting rid of pinworms are also available.
