Building a solar panel and converting it into electrical energy can easily be made using the sun’s energy. Sounds very complex but the truth is that building your own solar panels for your home is very easy.
Solar panels for your home can be build by a company and charge thousands of dollars to install. But then again, there are those who wanted to build their own solar panels because they wanted to save money.
Benefits of solar panels for your home are as follows: produce electricity, trim down electricity bills up to 50%, heat water for indoor pools, and many others. After installation, you will no longer pay for your electricity payments but the company will pay you otherwise. Also, this is one way to make sure that no pollutants used by electric corporations to produce electrical power would pollute and eventually destroy Mother Nature.
Building your own solar panels for your home can be achieved by this quick procedures:
1. The following are equipment used for your solar panels: ½ sq ft per panel copper flashing sheets at around $5 per sq ft, metal sheers used for cutting the copper sheets, 2 alligator clip leads, sandpaper/wire brush attached to an electric drill, micro-ammeter, electric stove, tap water, 2 li clear plastic water container and 2 tbsp salt.
2. By means of the metal sheers, cut the copper sheet. To prevent your hands from being hurt and sweats not to get into the sheets resulting to corrosions, use gloves. Slice the sheet to a few millimeters larger than the electric stove burner.
3. Eradicate corrosions/sulphides from the copper sheets by brushing them off using the wire brush or sandpaper. Put the copper sheet on top of the electric stove burner and maximize the heat.
4. Observe the turning of colors on the metal while it oxidizes from the heat of the burner. As the color turns black, the coating of black cupric oxide develops upon inspection. Cook the copper flashing sheet to about an hour more to make sure that the coating becomes thicker. Slowly cool off the copper sheet by placing it on top of the burner after the stove is turned off.
5. When the sheets try to cool down, you can also witness the thick black coating starting to chip off. After it fully cooled down, flush the black coat on the copper sheet using running water but never try to bend or rub. Use the pads of your hands to keep away from destroying the metal.
6. The 2 liter plastic bottle’s neck is slash off leaving an gigantic opening. A new copper flashing sheet should be made, with exactly the same size as the heated one. Bend the sheets together so they can without difficulty get into manipulated the opening and whichever sides of the bottle. Do not let the metal sheets meet.
7. Attach an alligator clip one on each sheet. Connect the new sheet onto the positive terminal of the micro-ammeter and the heated sheet to the negative station.
8. Dissolve the salt into the heated faucet water. Pour the salt solution into the bottle but place enough room that a part of the plates are still left above water. Watch the ammeter go up as it is positioned under the sun. You have just effectively built your own solar panel for your home.
