The Egyptian onion is different than other onions, because it grows little onion bulbs on the top of the plants. Use the onions as green onions in the spring. Keep cutting the top of the plant off, leaving the root. The plant will grow the little bulbs on top. These can be used or left to replant in the ground. The next year you will have green onion and more plants than you started with.
The small bulbs are sold in the fall. If you do a search online, you will find several companies that sell the bulbs to get you started.
