When it comes to mesh banners and outdoors advertising, you can’t really go wrong with mesh. However, you can do a little bit better and if you’ve found that you aren’t all that fond of quite a few companies that print mesh banners, then you’re probably looking for an alternative that’s as durable as a mesh banner—but is a tiny bit better on your budget and advertises a little bit better.
Common Mesh Banner Problems
First of all, mesh banners require a bit more ink than vinyl banners so they don’t look “washed out”. You can ask quite a few people who have used vinyl banners and mesh banners and chances are that they’ll tell you they preferred vinyl banners. The reason that it looks more washed out is because of the holes that each banner has to let the wind through. In order to make it quite a bit less washed-out, you would have to go over the ink a few times, use smaller spacing…and pretty much, you would end up using much more ink, taking a lot more space, and quite a few other problems with this.
Then, you also have the fact that mesh is a little bit easier to tear. This isn’t a major problem, but if anyone goofing off were to start hanging off of the banners (such as little kids), then it could eventually stretch and warp and cause problems. However, you do have an alternative.
Why Vinyl Banners are Better
First of all, vinyl banners aren’t nearly as transparent, but can still be equipped with wind slits. Where most banners have problems with the wind unless they’re mesh, banner signs that are made out of vinyl do not have this problem.
Plus, you can also print over this type of banner one time and not have it look faded out, which, as stated above, is a common problem with mesh banners. Instead, you get clear images that aren’t faded or in any way ruined. Banner signs are also a lot more long-lasting when they’re vinyl banners instead of mesh. Mesh isn’t quite as weather-resistant.
So, if you’re looking for an alternative to mesh banners, instead check into vinyl banners. Let’s face it—they’re durable, more useful, and you don’t have to worry about fading or problems with the weather. Plus, they’re much better cost-wise, in the long-run!
