Sri Lanka’s wedding of the year 2011 was held today at Colombo Hilton Hotel. Defense secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksha’s son Manoj got married today and all the high profile figures including Sri lanka president Mahinda Rajapaksha were present in this gracious occasion.
Gotabhaya Rajapaksha is the younger brother of Sri lanka president Mahinda Rajapaksha. Gotabhaya was a Sri lanka army officer before he immigrated to United States. Later when Mahinda Rajapaksha was elected as Sri lanka president, he came back to Sri lanka and took over the Defense secretary position.
It was under Sri lanka president Mahinda Rajapaksha’s blessings and Gotabhaya Rajapaksha’s guidance that Sri lanka defense forces could defeat thirty years of civil war in Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka army was able to eliminate one of most ruthless terrorist organization in the world, LTTE.
After the war Gotabhaya Rajapaksha is still leading the country for post war development era. There has been many interventions and steps taken by Defense secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksha which have been admired by majority of Sri Lankans.
So the wedding of this great Sri Lankn citizen’s son was very important event. Colombo Hilton hotel must be really proud of being the host of this grand wedding of Manoj and Sewwandi.
