Why Business Banners Need to be Easy to Read

When you order business banners you are ordering one form of advertising. There are others of course such as newsprint advertising or perhaps radio ads or internet links on websites. But business banners are intended to be displayed indoors or outdoors and they can be visually effective whether displayed onsite or at a remote location. No matter where they are displayed they must be readable. If the print is too small or the message is cluttered and confusing they won’t be read at all. So keep them simple and easy to read.

Fonts

Your advertising business banners don’t have to be read completely to convey a mood or feeling which is what advertising vinyl banners do. You can do this by using specific fonts. A more ornate font will convey perhaps a more romantic image such as lettering using the Garamond font. This is a more elaborate font and when read a person subconsciously thinks frilly or old fashioned or girlie. If you use a clean crisp looking font such as ‘print clearly’ or ‘sansumi’ or ‘district thin’ all of which are crisp and clean looking they are easy to read. These convey a more modern feeling to your advertising format. So choose carefully with the mood you intend in mind.

Graphics

Graphics can be confusing or they can tell a story. If you are selling something with an old fashioned feel to it like antiques or reproductions you can use a frillier font and perhaps an old fashioned graphic like an image of a lady with her hair up in a 1900’s fashion. This can be just a plain dark face but it immediately conveys old fashioned. If you want your business banners to convey you sell edgy products to a youthful public then use sharp clean graphics with edgy colors to them like silver or red and black with lightening bolts or similar which will attract that specific audience.

Background colors and other colors

Vinyl banners because they are vinyl take printing inks easily and in return you get bright bold colors. But you can overwhelm someone with too many colors. And if you add several colors to the banners you may have to pay more for them. So keep the background color easy like plain white or bright yellow. Then use a plain dark color for the font so it will stand out. This way your banners can be read.
