Big 2011 Avalanche with Its Little Changes.

The Chevrolet Avalanche

In 2001, American car manufacturers General Motors released a new line of Sports Utility Vehicles called the Chevrolet Avalanche. Also called the Cadillac Escalade (the escalade is said to be an extension of the Avalanche), the Avalanche is a midsize truck designed with specifications to accommodate both passenger and cargo and has been in manufacturing from 2001 to present. The Avalanche, however, despite its capabilities has been deemed as too high-priced for a lesser than normal crew cab pickup performance. The Avalanche has been in production for 11 years and recently launched their 2011 model which more or less is no different from its predecessors.

The Modern Avalanche

With its comfortable interior design passengers are able to enjoy modern-day SUV amenities such as a DVD player, Automatic transmission, a turn by turn navigational system, Bluetooth capabilities, and even an IPod input. Not all models come with these capabilities as they vary.  It comes with a drop down section (mid-gate) to extend the cargo bed.  The mid-gate when folded down extends the 5 foot 3 inch cargo bed to more than 8 feet. This is what allows for its conversion from an SUV to a pickup.

The 2011 Avalanche

The 2011 is  pretty much the same as previous models as nothing significant has changed regarding its design or specifications.  The new model comes with a 5.3 liter v8 engine and performance equivalent to 320 horsepower.  The towing capacity and the classy interior makes it a must have for those with an intention to buy this type of vehicle that can easily be converted from an SUV to a midsize truck

Buying an Avalanche

Even with the older models, you might be able to replace parts easily as used Avalanche engines are not so hard to find. The 2011 Avalanche is a great investment, though somewhat pricey, for someone who needs its dual function of a pickup and an SUV. The price range starts at $39 000 and customers have three options in the LS LT and LTZ models. The features for each of these models vary and ranges from leather interior to heated and ventilated front seats. The price range for these three models also varies with the LTZ EXT being the most expensive at a price just under $50 000. Buying a new Avalance means that you are virtually purchasing the same model from the previous year but the little changes might be worth it.
