One of the more popular toys for young kids, especially for fans of a certain talking blue train, are Thomas the Tank Engine toy train tracks.  And there are several good ones to choose from for kids of all ages.

A great one for older kids is the Zip, Zoom, and Logging Adventure track.  It is a large, plastic track with a couple of cool features.  The first neat feature is a sawmill where Thomas delivers a log which is taken by a lift to be cut.  After it is cut it is delivered back to the car that Thomas pulls around the track.  The second fun feature is a zip line that Thomas can ride for about a foot and a half.  All you have to do is flip a switch to make Thomas the Train go to either the sawmill or zip line.

But if you have smaller children, the large and complex Zip, Zoom, and Logging Adventure might not be for you.  In that case, you can buy tracks for younger kids.  Thomas’s Big Day is a very basic track that runs in an oval, yet still gives small children the ability to start and stop Thomas with the flip of a switch.  If you want something a little more advanced, try the Sir Topham Hatt Figure-8 track.

So if you are looking for a Christmas or birthday gift for a young fan of Thomas the Train, you cannot go wrong with Thomas the Tank Engine toy train tracks.
