It is the month of November, or as most of us may know it, Movember. November is the month of the year when men across the country grow their facial hair in aid of a charitable cause. The beards and moustaches that are grown on the faces of men are to raise awareness of male health organisations and illnesses such as cancer. Since 2003, November has been the month where men across the country and around the world see how much facial hair they can grow for the charity.
This year, designer jewellery brand, Links of London have created a collection of pieces showing their support towards the great cause. The designer label has brought out a range of limited edition moustache design cufflinks and charms. The whimsical collection has been created to help raise money and awareness of the Movember cause. Each piece that is purchased from the range sees a generous 10% from the sales donated to the charity organisation.
Movember is a chance for men as well as women to become more aware of the male illnesses that can affect men of any age. The cause is especially aimed towards male cancers including prostate and testicular. Raising the awareness will most likely help guys to recognise the symptoms of the illnesses and make sure they are well aware of checking for signs. Hopefully this will result in a lower number of men being diagnosed with the cancers, which is what the Movember cause is all about.
For those men who are unfortunate to not be able to grow much facial hair, they can still show they care with the Links of London Movember collection. Wearing one of the brands specially made cufflinks or charms will allow others to see they are showing their support towards the cause. Of course women cannot really take part in the event so they can also show they are raising awareness too with something from the Movember collection.
With more than a million Mo-Bros already taken part in previous Movembers it goes to show that the cause is one that is raising the awareness of cancers and illnesses that can affect everyone’s lives, not just the men who are unfortunately diagnosed with them each and every year. Hopefully with a lot more people more aware, we can diminish the number of cases and make sure that men are free from the terrible illnesses.
