With the holidays quickly approaching, there is always that one person or couple on your Christmas list that can be rather difficult to buy a Christmas gift for. Maybe they already have enough nicknacks to last a lifetime (most people hate nicknacks as gifts anyhow). Maybe they are one of those couples that are well off and the thought of finding a unique gift that doesn’t cost you a fortune is really difficult to pull off. Well, you can get really creative with designing a Christmas gift basket that will cater to the couple you are specifically shopping for. This will give you an opportunity to come up with a one of a kind gift but it will also help you show this couple just how well you know them.

Create A Unique Christmas Gift Basket

There are a million Christmas gift baskets out there but you don’t want to carbon copy them nor do you want to just order or pick-up any old random gift basket. Really take the time to be creative with this basket and keep the couple’s hobbies and interests in mind as you put the gift basket together. • Tea Lover’s Basket – Pick up some different Bigelow tea flavors from your local grocery store or splurge a little and actually buy gourmet teas from an authentic tea shop such as Teavana. Of course no tea basket is complete without shortbread cookies (either bake them yourself or buy them), decorated sugar cubes (you can purchase these online too and you can often find designed sugar cubes such as snowflake sugar cubes), a jar of honey, maybe visit the Goodwill or yard sales and pick up a tea cup and saucer set and perhaps a magazine of their liking such as Good housekeeping, Ladie’s Home Journal or a book from the Christian book store for daily devotionals or words of encouragement. The idea here is something relaxing and that brings comfort.

Put Your Basket Together

Now it’s time to start with the foundation of your gift basket which is to actually buy a basket. if you don’t have a basket laying around the house somewhere not being used at the moment then you can check out wicker picnic baskets online. I would suggest buying a wicker picnic basket just because they are versatile and can be used time and time again after the holidays have passed. Pick one that is large enough to fit the items you will be placing into it. So for example if you have decided on doing a BBQ basket theme, then you will need a basket that will be high enough to fit the handle of a BBQ spatula or whatever.

Next, you will place either some paper grass in the bottom of the basket to cushion all the items and keep them in place. You can purchase this grass in most stores such as a craft store, Walmart or Target located near the gift wrap.

Carefully place your items into the basket and arrange them in a method in which they look presentable and are easy to view. Wrap the basket in cellophane which can also be purchased at a craft store or you can choose not to wrap it but place a big fancy bow or ribbon on the handle. Voila! The perfect gift!
