Purchasing a kitchen at a good price

I have to change my out dated kitchen. I have just spent a small fortune on the new double glazed windows and doors. I knew the kitchen needed replacing but I thought it would have lasted a bit longer. The problem is my wife turns fifty next month, and her party will be held here. I do not want the entire house looking so good, only for the guest to see the kitchen and wonder why it is so bad. As you know at any party the kitchen is the hub of all activity.

As my budget is limited for the reason mentioned above and the fact I have to fund a secret holiday, I have planned for the day after the party. The kitchen will have to be at a good price. I do not wish to take out a lone to top up my available funds, as things are not looking too good at work, and I may have to go self-employed. The wife had a six-month redundancy notice just two weeks ago. The future may not be good for either of us.

The kitchen needs to be of good quality and kept in keeping with its surroundings however it needs to be at a good price, I intend to fit it myself to save costs, I will tile the walls and floor, I will do the plumbing myself but the electrical work will have to be done by a qualified electrician. I will demolish the kitchen on the first day and follow that with the plumbing and tilling. The electrician can work his magic whilst I assemble the kitchen units on day three or four. I want the whole job to be done within five to six days maximum so it will be finished on the Saturday at the latest.

I now need to find a kitchen at the right price. I will travel to the local do it yourself store to check out what they have on offer. I looked around but to me the kitchens were on the maximum side of my budget, I need a better priced kitchen to enable me to do the other finishing touches. Without this much needed leftover cash I would struggle to finish the job. I noticed a sign on the high street “Kitchen sale” I decided to check it out. They had much the same kitchens as the bigger store, but with a fifty percent discount, I was in. I will be able to upgrade my kitchens quality but still pay less than I first anticipated.

The best was still to come. Whilst I was handing over the cash, the guy asked what day they should come to fit it. I was finding it hard not to climb on his desk and do a victory dance. Not only was my kitchen purchased at a good price but it will be fitted by professionals. What a result.
