Those of us who go to Art Galleries as opposed to looking at Art in a book do so for the detail. Up close to a real painting you can see every last detail – these include the tiniest mark made by the smallest paintbrush, the thickness or thinness of the paint and even the different brush strokes used. Such details are rarely seen in a book unless there are areas highlighted and expanded but that highlight is the one chosen by the book’s editor.
When we all started using the internet images were worse than those in books and it seemed that images seen on the web would never rival those we can see in Art galleries – well Internet Explorer is working to change all that. The free download of Explorer 9 has moved in the direction of making real image quality available to all. One day (if not already) images online will be better than images offline – sooner or later not only will we be able to expand any part of an image we choose but we’ll be able to feel its texture too. Until then Microsoft’s Explorer 9 free download is to be highly recommended but look out for Microsoft Internet Explorer 10, 11 and 12!
