Finding a Swimsuit for Your Body Style

Even for women that maintain a good beach body, finding a swimsuit that accentuates their assets and doesn’t bring attention to any perceived flaws can be a difficult task. Sifting through all of the choices when it comes to swimwear designs and styles can be exhausting. There are more swimsuit styles available today than every before and each style fits different body shapes differently. There are no rules, set in stone, for finding the perfect swimsuit but here are some guidelines that will ease the search process.

Bigger Bust

For women with a large bust it is important to choose a swimsuit with extra support. Underwire swimwear or halter neck tops are what will work best here. Avoiding bikini bottoms and opting for shorts or the bottom will, visually, even out the bottom when compared to the top.

Bigger Hips and Thighs

Skirted swimwear is great for women with larger bottom halves. Boyshort swimsuits are another good choice. Look for bright colors to help draw people’s eyes upward. Bikini briefs are a no-no for this body shape.

Bigger Bust and Bigger Hips

Monokinis really show off the curves of this body shape. They create a slimming look that draws attention to the curved assets. A tankini works well, also. A tankini with boy shorts will suffice if more coverage is desired.

Larger Midsection

The best swimwear for women with a larger midsection is a one-piece swimsuit. Some one-piece suits have tummy control built into them which can be quite slimming.

Plus Size

Plus size swimwear can be difficult to find. Plus size women should opt for dark colors in swimwear. The cardinal rule here is to make sure the swimsuit fits before wearing it. It is never flattering to squeeze into a swimsuit that is too small. Doing this, actually, makes you look bigger than you are.

The most important part of choosing swimwear is to get something that makes you comfortable and fits properly. Having someone give you a second opinion is a good idea, as well.
