The Importance of Brushing – Keeping your Teeth Clean

Keeping your teeth clean, white and healthy is important for your mental well-being as it will automatically make you feel better with yourself and the way you look that will be transmitted to people around you, friends and colleagues as well as a much better approach when meeting a person – a smile is always the best ice breaker invented and this will only be achieved if you are happy with your teeth, these are just a few reasons why it is important to brush your teeth on a regularly basis.

However, these are not the only reasons; although personal or social reasons are important, you must consider your health and we are not only talking about your dental health. Maintaining a good dental hygiene will not only help you to keep all your teeth but it will probably save your life. How is that possible? People who suffer from bleeding gums normally produce an unbelievable amount of harmful bacteria that will eventually clog up your arteries; this is extremely bad for your health and heart in particular but it will also open the possibility of you catching up more illness by being more susceptible by your gums being exposed and bleeding.

There are many things you can do to keep your teeth clean and beautiful: brush your teeth should be your number one goal but you should incorporate different activities into your daily routine; these are: use mouthwash twice a day, floss at least once a day and chew gum at least three times a day; simple but will eventually help you live longer and healthier.

There is not really art in brushing your teeth; just do it first thing in the morning, just after you wake up in order to remove all the plague accumulated during the night. You should also brush them at least 30 minutes after dinner and if possible try to wash them after lunch but if this is not possible, use mouthwash thirty minutes after you have finished your lunch but in the mean time, drink some water straight after lunch and then have a chewing gym.
