Vitamins are necessary for your good health and although the majority of the daily intake we need should come from food; sometimes, we have to take supplements in order to fulfil the recommended doses and stay healthy. There are many vitamins needed in our body; however we will be focusing in 4 of them.
1. Vitamin A: considered by many as the vitamin that will keep you looking young and healthy; it is particular good for your skin either in the form of supplements/food or even as a cream to be applied to your face – Retinoids, probably the only cream scientifically proven to erase or at least reduce the appearance of lines and wrinkles is a derivative of vitamin A.
2. Vitamin C: we all know about the importance of vitamin C for our health and boots in our immune system and although latest research show that vitamin C might not be as good as we thought to fight off cold and flu; vitamin C still remains as a powerful antioxidant; which eventually will protect your body against free radicals produced for the daily routine of our lives, exercises and the passing of the time.
3. Vitamin D: probably one of the best vitamins to delay the onset of some cancers; it is also good for your skin and bones; however, for many of us is difficult to obtain the doses we need due to our busy life and living in countries where the sunshine is not available during the whole year – only 10 to 15 minutes a day is more than enough to enjoy the benefits of the sun and the vitamin D obtained from it; it will also make you feel better; if you live in a sunny country, you can apply sunscreen just before leaving your home as it normally takes around 30 minutes for it to protect your skin from the sun; remember not to expose your skin for long period of times – 10 to 15 minutes rul.
4. Vitamin E: The vitamin of the youth – it is believe that Vitamin E eradicates lines and wrinkles and although many people take capsules and supplements because of this belief; this might not be a good idea; it is not exactly clear the benefits of Vitamin E supplements for your health; however, it is clear that in its natural way, vitamin E is a powerful antioxidant that fights off free-radical damage.
