What is Snipsly?
Snipsly is a crowdsourcing website. We let users post articles that they have written and give them 80% of the ad revenue.
Do I have to be signed up to post?
Yes, but signing up for Snipsly is easy. We do not require any personal information other than your e-mail address.

Is there a Referral Program?
No. As much as we would love to promote the site through incentives... We gotta pay the bills. And we don't mean Starbucks. With an 80/20 split, there just isn't much room for referrals. Hosting, coding, etc. These things cost money.

Will Snipsly send me e-mails?
Snipsly sends out about 1 email per month. This email contains information about making your posts better, making more money, contests, or other fun information. If at any time you do not wish to receive these emails you can simply click the "unsubscribe" link contained in the e-mail.
What are categories?
Categories help to keep our site organized and help users find the content they are looking for. Whenever you create an article can select a category for it to belong to. When you are posting, you will see the category option on the right hand side of the screen. Click the box next to the category you wish to attach your post to.
What are tags?
Tags are very similar to categories. They are more specific than categories and help readers find your content. You should limit each post to having 1-5 tags. You should also be concise with your tags?if you create a post about training English bulldogs, you would attach it to the ?Pets" category and some examples of tags would be: dog training, English bulldog, dogs.
Making Money
How do I make Money on Snipsly?
You will need to create an account with Google Adsense first. After you apply your AdSense ID to your Snipsly account, ads that show will be split among Snipsly and the user?s AdSense ID based on a 20/80 split. So 80% of the time it is a users advertising code. We only show advertisements 20% of the time.
What is AdSense?
AdSense is a free way to earn revenue online. After you sign up for AdSense and apply your AdSense ID to your Snipsly account, Google will automatically display targeted ads on your posts. Each ad has a specific value, and every ad click adds money to your earnings!

Will my existing AdSense account work with Snipsly?
Yes! You just have to apply your Publisher ID from your AdSense account to your Snipsly account.

How do I apply Google AdSense to my Snipsly account?
Log in to your Snipsly account. Then, click on the "My Advertising" tab on your Snipsly dashboard and enter your Publisher ID into the AdSense ID field.
Does Snipsly offer advertising programs other than AdSense?
At the moment, Snipsly only offers Google AdSense. However, we are always looking to improve the site for our users, so that may change in the future.
How do I get my article to rank in Google search results?
Snipsly articles tend to rank relatively well, but you can always use Search Engine Optimization techniques to boost your search result ranking. Check out our Tutorials page for more information.
Account Information
Why has my account been changed to "Contributor"?
If you find that your account has been switched to "Contributor" status it is a result of our editorial process. We most likely found your articles to either not be unique, posted multiple times, habitually lacking sufficient content, or breaking one of Snipsly?s other Rules. You can still post from "Contributor" status, but all of your posts must be approved by a moderator.

How do I close or delete my account?

Can I change my username?
No. Once you have selected a username, there is no way to change it.
Can I change my password from the one you assigned to me?
Yes. When you log in to Snipsly you will automatically be redirected to your dashboard. Click ?Profile" on the left hand side of the screen. Scroll to the bottom of the page and you will be able to input a new password. Passwords must be at least 7 characters long. To protect your account, try to make a password that is deemed ?Strong" by the strength indicator.
I never received en e-mail with my password, what do I do?
If you didn?t receive an e-mail with your password, check your spam folder. Still no e-mail? Write to us at support@snipsly.com and we?ll be happy to help you!
How do I update my profile?
You can update your profile through the Snipsly dashboard. After you log in to Snipsly you should be automatically redirected to the dashboard. Click the button on the left hand side of the page that says ?Profile". This page provides you the option of sharing personal information, such as your name, website, AIM screen name, and biographical information.

How do I post on Snipsly?
Easy! Sign up for an account. Once you are signed up and logged in you can easily post new items and create a user profile. If you want to show advertisements you will need to sign up for a Google Adsense account.
What can I write about?
On Snipsly, you can write about virtually anything as long as it does not violate our rules. You can post informational articles, product reviews, poetry, artwork, long articles, short articles? pretty much whatever you would like!
Your articles must be unique content. Articles must be at least three sentences, but we encourange users to write more.

What can?t I write about?
You cannot write content which violates Snipsly?s rules. To give a brief rundown, you are not allowed to post: plagiarized content, articles shorter than 3 sentences, articles which contain only keywords and no real content, adult oriented content (anything of a sexually explicit nature), material that is obscene, hateful, inflammatory or racist, links to gambling, pornography, illegal activities, or illegal content, excessively repetitive keywords or content, content written in any language other than English.

If your posts are not displaying after you post them, two things could be happening.
1. We have filters to instantly weed out articles relating to adult content. Sometimes, while you may not have intended for your article to be considered ?adult," the use of certain words may have led your post to be filtered.

How do I display video in my posts?
Displaying YouTube videos on Snipsly is fairly easy. All you need to do is paste in the URL to the video you would like to show; and add a "v" after http.

How long should my posts be?
Three sentences should be the minimum post size. Articles can be of varying lengths but it seems that the Search Engines prefer longer articles. All posts should be coherent and written by you. We will judge all articles, short or long, by the validity of their content.
An important optimization tip is to avoid "keyword stuffing". If you overload keywords, or add irrelevant ones, the search engines may ban your articles.

I am having problems creating links in my post?
Link are critical and we know you need them. They also add weight in the search engines.
A common mistake is to try to create a link from Quick Post box on the Dashboard page. You can't.
Instead you will need to create a New Post either from the top bar or the right menu. Above the text editor you will see a standard hyperlink symbol. You just need to highlight the text to be linked, click on the hyperlink symbol and add your link.

Someone else is using my content, what do I do?
If you have a copyright infringement claim simply contact us and we will do our best to rectify the issue. We do not tolerate plagiarism.

You do! We do not seek ownership and you have the right to edit, change, or delete your content at any time.
