New Duplicate Content Screening Measures on Snipsly
Hi Snipsly Users,
As many of you know, Google has recently announced algorithm changes which have impacted the way many sites, including Snipsly, perform in Google search engine results.
Snipsly started off as a community meant to include everyone. From the mainstream to the fringe, we wanted to provide a platform for individuals to share their voice with the world. There are many users on our site who produce great, informative content that is well written and of use to readers and we are so happy that you continue to write incredible articles in our community. We want to ensure that we make our site the strongest that it can be in order to support those users who follow our rules, providing them with high rankings in SERPs as well as the highest possible AdSense earnings.
Unfortunately, there are also some users who have taken advantage of our openness and continue to post articles which violate our rules. The most frequently broken rule? No duplicate content. In order to combat this, we have instituted new software which analyzes all articles submitted to Snipsly and classifies those which contain duplicate content as “Pending”. All posts deemed Pending will be reviewed by Snipsly’s moderators and will either be published live or removed from the site, depending on whether they do indeed contain duplicate content. As of right now, this new policy applies only to articles written from this point forward, and will not influence articles which have been written in the past.
In case you are confused about what we mean by “duplicate content,” it is content that exists anywhere else on the web, whether it is written by your or not. We still openly welcome backlinking to promote your articles on personal blogs or other websites, as well as your promotion of affiliate links, but we ask that your article be original to Snipsly.
If you feel as though one of your articles has been wrongly classified as duplicate or have any questions about why we have instated this new policy or how it will impact your writing, you are more than welcome to e-mail us at support@snipsly.com with any of your concerns. If you write unique, original content, these new screening measures should have no impact on your writing process at all!
We’re always happy to discuss the site with our users and are always open to suggestions. Thank you all for bearing with us throughout this algorithm change. We will continue to work hard to make Snipsly the best site possible for our writers!
Please email us at support@snipsly.com with any of your concerns if you believe your article was mistakenly marked duplicate. Any requests for review must be sent to this email address and we will be happy to address it for you. If you simply post a comment on this page, we cannot guarantee it will be addressed. Emailing is the most efficient way to handle your duplicate content questions.
Thanks so much for using Snipsly,
The Snipsly Team
